Ahahahahah

"4. The term "bloody" as in "bloody hell" is not a violation."

But as good Americans, "bloody" (in that OTHER sense of the word) is totally off bounds.

Oh, what would we do without the genius of Goodlife?
In University we studied the extensive writings of "Goodlife". Not only was she a scholar comparable to Socrates, but her pseudo-retarded rulings at the Hannity forum were (are?) a constant source of study and hilarity. She is second only to Lee Kington.

Oh, by the way - if you're looking for a Republican (*cough* idiot *cough*) babysitter who might be more concerned with "Family Matters" than "The Origin of the Family...", then please send your resume written in crayon to: forums.hannity.com , attention: Goodlife, C/O: Smart people.

"Feminazi was coined by Rush. It is used to describe a radical feminist. I don't have a problem with using it here. Right now, Mark Levin is using Islamo-Nazi. Again, I have no problem using it. Where I had issues years ago was the gratuitous reference to an individial as a Nazi, or a comparison to Hitler, in a cheap attempt to discredit the poster. I don't think any of our posters have ever done anything close to what Hitler did...and to make constant use of his name in that regard almost trivializes the holocaust."

CUT TO...

" I edited out the part that violated the Nazi rule."

Just When You Thought it Was Safe...

Ahhhh, the boards were so quiet over the past month, or so. It was so quiet that one was forced to confront the previously-thought-to-be-absurd possibility that maybe the moderators at Hannity.com had come to their senses and stopped being complete fucktards.

Not so.

In this thread, the ol' scholar Lee Kington says NO MORE NEW THREADS ABOUT RACISM re: OBAMA'S PASTOR. In fact, he went so far as to close a thread (or two) and suggest that all future comments on such topic be put in one of the existing threads. Fine. Whatever.

Oh, wait! What's that I hear? Could it be the sound of a douchebag starting a NEW THREAD ABOUT RACISM re: OBAMA'S PASTOR? Seems like that should be addressed, no?

Well, no. And shut up about it. Don't you know that if you're a friend of the mods, you can freely disregard the idiotic precendents that they just set, oh, like an hour before? And just SHHHHHH already!

The Time Outs, They Are A'Waitin'

A funny few days on the forum, due to some unexpected time outs given to regulars.

New Orleans Lady got 72 hours out for being just batshit insane (as usual), but the real shocker was good ol' boy GregMartin's CRUSHING AND BRUTAL 24 hour timeout for, well, being a fucking idiot and comparing Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden. (Their names are one letter apart, geddit?)

"One precedent creates another and they soon accumulate and constitute law"

Do not make fun of McCain's POW status.

Actually, I agree. It's petty and ignorant and partisan and puerile - and every other idiotic insult I might think to add.

However, I think that codifying such is setting a dangerous precedent that might live for another 5 years. Yikes. And besides, where the fuck were they when a little ol' veteran called J Kerry was being ridiculed for his military service by civilians?

Yes, I mean to say that the moderators at hannity.com are ridiculously biased. And stupid.

The Days of Our Lives

Regarding this earlier post, MenigLBC has asked to be reinstated at the forum. So far s/he is being completely ignored. Looks like they're going to make the poster get down and beg...

Stay tuned.

What Does One Do When Completely Pwned on the Hannity Forums?

Well, if you're Lee, you tell the "other person" to shut up. And then you lock the thread to prevent any further embarrassment.

"Neither she nor I OWE you a full explanation of it. Let it go and DO NOT bring the matter up again."

LOL. Hear that?

I Swear You Can't Make This Up....

So - as we all know, there exists a virtual minefield of offenses on the Hannity forum. One false step and you may find yourself out on the street before there's even a chance to figure out what's going on.

You can get banned for being "uncivil" as they love to say (it's got three syllables, so they think it sounds fancy). Like, you can be banned for calling someone stupid. Or calling someone a Nazi. Or saying Sean Hannity is a douchebag. It's not at all uncommon, and there's usually no further explanation - just a simple comment from the moderator saying something to the effect of, "_______ is banned for violating the TOS". If you're a liberal, that is.

If you're conservative, you can go right ahead and proudly state something like...oh, say, "I sometimes wish the Islamo-facists would ...cut the heads off of your friends and families right before they cut off yours...that look would be PRICELESS"

Just so we're clear, here:

"GFY" = BAN
"I wish they'd kill you, your friends, and your family" = NOT BAN

You couldn't trust these morons with the classroom milk money, let alone policing a political forum.

The Ron Paul Drama Continues....

Please note: I'm not a Ron Paul supporter.

Used to be that you couldn't start any threads about Ron Paul. All sorts of excuses were used to justify it - most centering around the supposed "army of spammers" that were going to inevitably flood the boards.

Then, after the outcry regarding this decision, the mods decided that there could be one RP thread on the main page at a time.

Then, they started merging any RP-related topics into one completely useless, indecipherable monster of a thread.

I guess I'm a little late in noticing, but it seems now you simply can't even talk about him. Note the "HiJacking of other threads to promote Paul discussion will be considered a violation." This is a not-so-cleverly-coded way of saying that if RP becomes the topic of (favorable) conversation, you will get banned. I'm guessing that a lot of thought and heady philosophical debate amongst the moderators went into this one.

I'm not entirely sure why that genius Lee Kington has such a beef with RP supporters, but he sure as hell doesn't make any effort to pretend it's not personal.

Sticks and Stones...

Just so we're all caught up, the rules are:

You MAY NOT call anyone a Nazi, but calling someone a "feminazi" is fine. You are allowed to claim someone is a bigot, but under no circumstances may you call someone a kook. Though you may call someone a bigot, you're not allowed to call them racist. We're waiting to hear whether calling someone a loon is verboten. No, seriously.

If there's any misunderstanding about what may or may not pass muster, Goodlife will magically decipher the intent of the poster. No, seriously.

I swear - a room full of monkeys could come up with a more rationally applicable system than the stuff these guys just continually pull out of their asses.

Oooooh, looks like an excellent time to start!

So "MenigLBC" (a liberal, according to popular opinion) was banned today for using the acronym "GFY". Of course we can all imagine what that means, right? And we all know that there's a very strict policy about foul/abusive language, right?

Well, another poster pointed out that one of the main moderators "Goodlife" has herself used that exact same acronym on the message boards. Did she apologize? Did she admit error? Did they admit they were hasty in the banning? Did they reinstate MenigLBC?

Of course not. They said unless you're "part of her group" (to which "GFY" supposedly has a special, inside joke meaning), you can't use the phrase on the forum. But she and her friends still can. She's a moderator.

As of this post, MenigLBC is still banned. Will s/he grovel for reinstatement? Will the mods admit they are making it up as they go along? Stay tuned!

'Tis a Silly Place

As a member of the Hannity forums, I've noticed over time that it is a very silly place. I'm not referring to the crazy-ass political rants, or commenting on the host himself - I knew what I was getting into upon signing up. It's more the soap opera and the teenage drama that this is about.

I intend to use this space as a way for fellow forumites (be they active or banned, conservative or liberal) to keep up to date with all the unfolding drama and hijinx, and to speak freely without fear of the playground retribution which is unfortunately all too common at that site. Let the games begin!
